So this is packing tips that are simple ways to help you relocate. I’ll be encouraging some little household things that YOU can do to make this go as smooth as possible. These are simple tips that will help you protect your furniture, appliances and anything packed in a box. These tips will also help you keep organized when packing so that unpacking will be a breeze.
One step ahead
So if you are one of those people who kept the big boxes that your appliances came in then I applaud you. A lot of time appliances that come within big boxes (like TV boxes) come with some sort of fitted padding specific for that piece or appliance. This ensures a greater protection since it is designed to protect it through a move. If you are putting appliances in back in their boxes but don’t have the protective frame, a good idea is to put the appliance with in a box with cushioning and protection of some sort and then seal the box.
The next step is to put this box within another box with some cushioning and then to seal it. I only encourage this if the item you are packing is fragile. Make sure you pack the cushioning firmly within the box, you don’t want a lot of room for the item to move around in the box. Keep in mind this will take some time so make sure you start packing in advance and that the item you are packing is worth the time.
So when moving, everyone needs a little moving insurance. If you are moving some of your own stuff to the new location and you will need to have something to cushion your important items. Put the soft materials like stuffed animals, pillows, comforters, sheets and sometimes clothes in laundry bags or trash bags. This you can put as a buffer between items so that each item stays in its place securely and each item has enough protection.
This tip is often overlooked. When moving furniture and fragile things people often move the big things first and then the easier smaller stuff but it is beneficial to use this tip because there is a lot of extra little space that could be filled with some protection. Let that ridiculously big stuffed animal that you thought would never be used be that cushioning.
